Hi, I’m Starry — host of Doll Lab.
I’ve reviewed dolls from multiple brands, tested materials, and discussed related topics with collectors and industry experts, which has deepened my understanding from both practical and educational perspectives.

I have a limited budget and want to choose a silicone doll. How should I choose? Can Starry help me?
Of course I can help! 😊 If you’re on a budget, I’d suggest looking at a silicone torso first — they’re more affordable, easier to move around, and still feel very realistic. You can also check out the ZELEX SLE series. They’re usually more budget-friendly but still have really solid quality for the price. I’d focus on the features you care about most instead of adding every upgrade. That’s usually the best way to get the most value for your budget
Hi Starry! What material ages the best over time?
Hi!😊Silicone generally ages the best over time — it stays soft, keeps its shape, and is easier to maintain compared to TPE. With proper care, it can last many years without significant wear
I’m looking for a doll around 158-162cm. Which body type do you think looks and feels the most natural and balanced? Any particular model you would recommend?
If I had to pick one for the most “natural and balanced” feel in this height range, I would go with Real Lady 159cm model or Zelex 160cm model. The waist-to-hip ratio and leg shape look very natural, not too exaggerated. Excellent realism, especially in skin texture and overall body lines. Zelex is slightly curvier than Real Lady but still very believable.
I’ve had my doll for a while now, and one thing I still worry about is long-term maintenance.
Starry, what are your personal go-to tips for keeping a doll soft, clean, and looking good over the years? Especially for avoiding stains or keeping the skin feeling nice
Hi! 😊
My top tips are:
1. Clean regularly with lukewarm water and mild soap.
2. Use renewing powder after drying to keep the skin soft and smooth.
3. Avoid dark fabrics or inks that can stain the doll.
4. Store properly in a cool, dry place when not in use.
With these steps, your doll can stay soft and looking great for years!
